DKI Restricts Transportation Operations In Eid Holidays

JAKARTA - The Transportation Office of DKI Jakarta restricts the operation of all types of transportation from cars, trains to water during the Eid al-Fitr holiday or Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijri.

"In confirming it we have issued a decree for transportation control with Number 190 of 2021 as an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the transportation sector," said Head of transportation office of DKI Jakarta Syafrin Liputo quoted antara, Tuesday, May 11.

These restrictions, syafrin said, include restrictions on transport capacity for the use of transportation modes for the movement of people and goods. Restrictions on the operational time of public transportation facilities and restrictions on the operational time of public transportation infrastructure.

Operational arrangements of online ojek (online) and base ojek, control of population mobility through the mainstreaming of the use of bicycle and walking transportation as well as protection of passengers, crew and means of transportation.

"For the restriction of transportation transport capacity is limited to the amount of 50 percent of the carrying capacity in each type of transportation," syafrin said.

For the limitation of operational time of public transportation facilities in each mode, consists of:

a. Transjakarta: 05.00 - 21.30

b. Regular Public Transport: 05.00 - 21.30

c. Integrated Moda Raya (MRT): 05:00 - 21:30

d. Integrated Highway (LRT): 05:30 - 21:30

e. Water Transportation: 05.00 - 18.00

f. AMARI and Transjakarta Health Workers Transport: 21.30 - 23.00

"For operational restrictions on public transportation infrastructure and its supporting facilities including inner-city bus terminals, MRT stations, LRT stations, regional feeder piers/ports and local feeders and bus stops, adjusting to the operational timing of public transportation facilities," syafrin said.

For the operational arrangement of online ojek and base ojek as follows:

A.. Online ojek and base ojek are allowed to transport passengers and must implement health protocols

b. Online ojek and base ojek drivers are prohibited from crowding more than five people

c. Online ojek and ojek pangkaian drivers while waiting for passengers are obliged to maintain the distance between drivers and parking between motorcycles at least one meter;

d. Online ojek application companies are obliged to apply Geofencing information technology so that drivers do not crowd as referred to in letter b, and apply sanctions against violating drivers.

"Protection of passengers, crew and means of transportation is the responsibility of the operator through the provision of hand sanitizer that can be used by passengers when using transportation facilities and provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the form of masks for employees and crew of transportation facilities and disinfect transportation facilities before and after operation," he said.
