JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) has gradually repaired 18 traffic lights (TL) damaged by the chaos that occurred in the last few days.

"There are 18 intersection locations affected by the demonstration. We are gradually making improvements so that they can return to function," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) Syafrin Liputo when contacted by ANTARA in Jakarta, Monday.

Syafrin said, several points have returned to function, one of which is in the Jatinegara area. Meanwhile, the Senen intersection and traffic lights at several other points are still in the process of being repaired.

"Alhamdulillah, for the Jatinegara intersection, it is functioning again, while the Senen intersection is still in the process of being repaired and others," he said.

He ensured that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) would continue to strive so that all damaged traffic lights would return to normal immediately to support the smooth flow of vehicles in the capital city.

The following are 18 intersection locations or roads that were affected by the demonstration, namely:

3. TL Otista 3 (Jalan Otista Raya - Jalan Otista 3)

4. TL Otista 1 (Jalan Otista Raya - Jalan Cawang Baru)

5. TL Cawang Stove (Jalan MT Haryono - Jalan Dewi Sartika)

6. TL PGC (Jalan Raya Bogor - Cililitan - Dewi Sartika)

7. TL Pejompongan BNI

8. TL Clearing gas stations

9. TL Kwitang (Abdurahman Saleh Street - Kramat Kwitang Street)

10. TL Youth (Pemuda Street - Pramuka Street)

11. TL Senen (Jalan Senen Raya - Jalan Kwitang)

12. TL Slipi (Jalan S Parman - KS Tubun- - Gatot Subroto)

The wave of actions that began on Monday (25/8) at the DPR RI Building began with the desire of the masses to dissolve parliament, and highlighted several policies that were considered detrimental to the people.

Masses ranging from the community among workers, workers, to students and students flocked to enliven the DPR RI building and several points in Jakarta.

The action ended in chaos when the police dispersed the masses by spraying tear gas. They were scattered into various roads in Jakarta.

The next action came from thousands of workers on Thursday (28/8) at the DPR RI Building from morning to noon. However, in the afternoon the riots broke out at a number of points, including Pejompongan and Jalan Asia Afrika.

That day at the same time as the Brimob tactical vehicle incident ran over an online motorcycle taxi driver, Affan Kurniawan (21) to death in the Pejompongan area.

The action extends to several points in Jakarta so that the masses are desperate to damage a number of public facilities ranging from police posts, traffic signs, to road barriers. In fact, vehicles in vulnerable buildings are also mass sacrifices because they are burned.

Not only that, but anger led to looting that occurred in several houses of politicians ranging from Ahmad Sahroni, Eko Hendro Purnomo alias Eko Patrio, Surya Utama alias Uya Kuya, Nafa Urbach, to the residence of Finance Minister Sri Mulyani.

The items in the house were burned down, even the masses also left traces in the form of graffiti on the walls of the residence of members of the DPR RI.
