DPR, MPR And DPD RI Condolences To The Ojol Driver Who Was Run Over By Rantis Brimob

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly (MPR RI) Eddy Soeparno together with the Chairman of the Indonesian Regional Representative Council (DPD RI) Sultan Bachtiar Najamuddin, and member of Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR) Hinca Panjaitan expressed his condolences for the death of an online motorcycle taxi driver (ojol), Affan Kurniawan (21) as a result of being run over by a tactical vehicle (Rantis) Brimob during a demonstration on Thursday, August 29.

Parliament appeals to all parties to maintain security and order together, including the Indonesian Police who oversee the process of conveying the aspirations of the community.

"We express our deepest condolences and condolences for the death of our brother, Affan Kurniawan. We also convey our attention to those who were injured in yesterday's demonstration. And with the message that if there is a continuation of the demonstration, let's maintain order, we take care of our health and safety," said Deputy Chairman of the MPR, Eddy Soeparno at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, August 29.

Chairman of the DPD RI Sultan Najamuddin hopes that similar incidents will no longer occur in the next demonstration. "We express our condolences and condolences related to our community being affected by yesterday's incident. Hopefully, the same incident will not be repeated in the days to come", he said

"And we all have a duty to maintain each other's responsibilities, to control the situation, to provide a positive perspective to the whole community, all family members, the environment, the community, so that this country can only be built in good conditions, safe conditions," he added.

Meanwhile, DPR member Hinca Panjaitan ensured that his party would ask the National Police to thoroughly investigate this case in a transparent manner to the public. Especially regarding the follow-up to the perpetrator who was in the Rantis car.

"We with the deepest feelings convey our deepest condolences for the death of our friends and the injuries that occurred by our friends who held demonstrations. I invite all of us, wherever we are, to maintain the conduciveness of all of us," said Hinca.

"Hopefully this will end soon and to law enforcement officials, especially the police, to continue to take good care of and bring the injured friends and visit the injured and give wider attention because they are on the field," he continued.

The Democratic legislator for the North Sumatra electoral district also appealed to people who want to convey their thoughts and ideas and proposals to the DPR RI, to be openly conveyed.

"Hopefully everything can go well and smoothly. We pray that everything will be conducive again and safe," he said.

"In terms of our supervision of the police, last night we heard an explanation from the Head of the Propam Division who handled the seven police officers who were in the lantis car and now the investigation is ongoing, we encourage this to be opened openly and announced to the public in public as well, so that everything will be clear," concluded Hinca.
