Labor Demo August 28, BMKG: Cloudy Jakarta, Semarang And Light Rain Field

JAKARTA - Labor demonstrations scheduled to be held in many areas in Indonesia today, Thursday, August 28, 2025, are expected to be dominated by light rain, thick clouds, and the potential for thunderstorms in several cities.

Citing information from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) on the official Instagram account of BMKG (@infobmkg), on the island of Java, thick cloudy weather is predicted in Jakarta, while light rain is likely to fall in Serang, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya.

Meanwhile, on the island of Sumatra, cloudy weather is predicted to occur in Banda Aceh and Tanjung Pinang, while light rain has the potential to fall in the Medan and Pekanbaru areas.

BMKG appealed to the people in Padang to be aware of thunderstorms, while Jambi and Palembang were forecasted to be thick cloudy. Light rain is also expected to hit Bengkulu, Pangkal Pinang, and Bandar Lampung.

For the areas of Bali and Nusa Tenggara, cloudy weather is expected to occur in Kupang and Mataram, while Denpasar has the potential to experience light rain.

In Kalimantan, thick cloudy weather is forecasted in Samarinda. Light rain is expected to hit Tanjung Selor, Palangka Raya, and Pontianak. Meanwhile, Banjarmasin is forecasted to experience rain accompanied by lightning.

In Sulawesi, thick cloudy weather is predicted to occur in Manado, Gorontalo, and Kendari, while light rain has the potential to occur in Makassar. The people of Palu and Mamuju are asked to be aware of the potential for thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, in eastern Indonesia, cloudy weather is expected to occur in Ternate, thick cloudy in Ambon, as well as light rain in Sorong, Manokwari, Jayapura, Jayawijaya, and Merauke. Meanwhile, Nabire is predicted to experience thunderstorms.
