JAKARTA - Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan recommends that Eid prayers be performed at home or in the open courtyard. When residents pray id in the mosque, Anies reminds that health protocols are obeyed.

"Eid prayer we recommend to be done in the house, or in the yard and if it is not possible then do it in the open courtyard around the house or in the mosque, and for the managers of the mosque is expected to apply the prokes well," Anies told reporters, Tuesday, May 11.

"If possible do it in the field, if inside the mosque make sure the provisions are 50 percent and use a mask for all who enter the mosque," he continued.

Anies Baswedan also appreciated the decision of the manager of Istiqlal Mosque who abolished the Eid prayer.

"So when Istiqlal is in line with the government's policy, we express our appreciation and we hope this will be an example. An example for other great mosques that we prioritize for the citizens of solat id near his home in his village do not travel far," continued Anies.

Previously reported, Istiqlal mosque will not hold the implementation of Eid prayer due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is the second time the mosque has not held worship activities, as in previous years.
