Waka DPR Promises Demonstration Will Be Accepted By The Community's Aspirations Agency

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal responded to the community demonstration that was held in front of the DPR building yesterday. Cucun emphasized that expressing aspirations is the right of citizens and will be accepted by the DPR's Aspiration Body (BAM).

"On yesterday's occasion, we received several proposals or also several aspirations. The DPR continues to evaluate. If for example there are aspirations, the demands are related to the things that are now due to developments on social media from account to account. All of us, not only in aspirations, making laws, we will listen to everything," said Cucun at the DPR building, Tuesday, August 26.

Cucun ensured that input, criticism, suggestions and demands from the community would be accommodated and used as material for the DPR's evaluation. Provided, he said, the public can carry out demonstrations in an orderly manner without being ridden by other interests.

"That's why I also conveyed to everyone yesterday, thank you. The aspirations that have been conveyed, what are the criticisms, the suggestions that we convey regarding anything to the DPR, we continue to evaluate in our own DPR," he said.

Cucun admits that the DPR has not been able to work perfectly as expected by the public. However, according to him, the DPR continues to evaluate and improve its performance.

"The mechanism for discussing laws, monitoring mechanisms, mechanisms related to how to budget here. We continue to make improvements," he said.

Cucun also said that members of the DPR and the public should be able to consolidate and have a dialogue at the moment of yesterday's demonstration.

Therefore, in the future, said Cucun, the BAM which was only formed at the beginning of this period will accept anyone who wants to convey their aspirations to the DPR.

"Yes, it should be like that. So who wants to be the representative. Here, there is already a BAM aspiration agency, later BAM will accept it. Lost by BAM stand by here. For them, they accept everything that becomes aspirations," he said.
