Chaotic Demo In The Indonesian House Of Representatives, Masses Of Action Spread To Tanah Abang

JAKARTA The result of the disbandment of the mass action in front of the DPR RI Building by the joint apparatus repressively, a number of action participants, the majority of whom were students and various other elements, were successfully beaten back.

However, the masses who were chaotic actually rushed to residential areas in Tanah Abang.

According to VOI monitoring in the field, several groups of students from various schools were seen in groups and resting on Jalan Purification, Tanah Abang. Meanwhile, other groups appeared to have just arrived along the railroad tracks carrying the Red and White flag. They also shouted chants from their respective regions.

The situation around the location is getting hotter. The Jalan Pejompongan to Purification Raya section was completely paralyzed due to clashes between the masses and the apparatus that were still happening.

"Closed, bro. There are still riots, clashes with the authorities," a young man on Jalan Pejompongan told VOI.

The impact of the clashes was also felt by a number of public facilities and residents' businesses. Pejompongan gas station closed its operations and it looked dark. Many traders on Jalan Purification chose to close their place of business because they were worried that conditions would not be conducive.

Long traffic jams are inevitable. Jalan Pemberian Raya in the direction of TL KH Mas Mansyur is totally jammed, causing the vehicle to be stuck without many alternative routes. This condition causes the anxiety of local residents.

Head of Public Relations of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Iptu Ruslan, confirmed that Jalan Jenderal Gatot Soebroto, right in front of the DPR RI Building, was still closed.

"In front of the DPR, it is still closed," he said briefly when confirmed by VOI.

As previously reported, clashes between students and the joint apparatus broke out on Jalan Pejompongan, Tanah Abang, until Monday night. The authorities were forced to fire tear gas to disperse the increasing number of people by night.

The majority of the people involved in this riot were students, from teenagers to adults.
