Having A Bad Record Of Detention, 25 Jambi High Risk Prisoners Moved To Nusakambangan

JAKARTA - A total of 25 high risk prisoners from Jambi were sent to the Nusakambangan Penitentiary (Lapas), Cilacap, Central Java. Transfer because the prisoners had a bad record during their sentence.

"It's true, it has been moved. There are 25 people in the number," said Head of Regional Office of the Jambi Directorate General of Social Affairs, Hidayat, in Jambi, Sunday, August 24, confiscated by Antara.

He said the transfer was carried out last Friday (22/8). Coming from various prisons scattered in Jambi Province. The transfer is carried out simultaneously, through the Jambi Class IIA Prison.

Hidayat detailed that of the 25 inmates, 21 were Correctional Inmates (WBP) in the Narcotics case, four were murder cases.

The transfer was based on instructions from the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections (Kemenmipas) through the Directorate General of Corrections (Ditjenpas). Which was forwarded to the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Corrections (Kanwil Ditjenpas) Jambi.

He continued, the inmates who were sent to Nusakambangan were problematic inmates while serving their sentences. This is based on records from internal correctional officers and law enforcement officials.

Basically, the correctional wants all inmates to complete their sentences in Jambi. But in fact, there are still inmates who violate the rules, which makes them have to be sent to Nusakambangan which has a security Super Maximum.

"We only follow the instructions from the ministry, in fact we want all of these prisoners to complete their detention periods in the Jambi area. Without having to be sent there," said Hidayat.
