Hendry Ch Builds List Of PWI Chairs, Brings Strong Support Ahead Of The PWI Unity Congress

JAKARTA - Hendry Ch Bangun officially registered as a candidate for the General Chair of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) for the period 2025-2030, Saturday (23/8). His presence at the Press Council Building, Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, marked an important step in preparation for the PWI Unity Congress.

Hendry came with the Honorary Council (DK) of Sihono, the former chairman of PWI Yogyakarta for two terms who is currently the Director of Pancasila Press. A number of PWI figures accompanied him, including Acting Chairman of DK Noeh Hatumena, Chairman of PWI South Kalimantan Helmi Zainal, Chairman of PWI North Sumatra Farianda Putra Sinik, Secretary General Iqbal Irsyad and Chairman of the Expert Council Sayid Iskandarsyah.

Barisan dukungan semakin terlihat dengan hadirnya pengurus lain: Djunaidi Tjunanti Agus, AR Lubis, Eka Putra, Jimmy S Harianto, Berman Nainggolan, Dadang Rahmat, Syahrul Munir, Berman Nainggolan, Edy Kiswanto, Herwan, Rudy Sitompul, serta pengurus PWI wilayah Bogor. Kehadiran memperegas soliditas dukungan untuk Hendry.

On that occasion, Hendry submitted the required documents, including 17 support letters from the chairman of the provincial PWI. Until now, Hendry has pocketed support from at least 23 provinces. This figure is seen as a strong capital towards the PWI Congress which will be held on August 29-30, 2025 at BPPTIK Komdigi, Cikarang, Bekasi.

"I am advancing to reunite PWI, strengthen reconciliation, and build organizational solidity, especially with the chairman of the provincial PWI," said Hendry in an optimistic tone.

Hendry's registration file was received by SC Chairman Zulkifli Gani Otto, OC Chair of SelAMEt Marthen, along with members of the committee including Raja Pane, Firdaus Komar, TB Adhi, Totok Suryanto, Sakti Siregar, Mercys and Lutfi Hakim. This moment is an important step for Hendry to maintain PWI's dignity in the midst of organizational dynamics.
