Vice President Meets With The Commander Of Jilah In Mempawah, Accommodates The Aspirations Of Traditional Houses

JAKARTA - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka met with Chairman of Tariu Borneo Bangkule Rajakng (TBBR) Pangalangok Jilah or Panglima Jilah in Toho District, Mempawah, West Kalimantan, Saturday, to accommodate the aspirations of the community, including the construction of traditional houses.

The arrival of Gibrandi Mempawah to fulfill the invitation to commemorate the 45th Anniversary of the Commander of Jilah as the leader of the TBBR Red Forces from the Dayak tribe.

"We are grateful to have the Vice President who wants to visit us people in the interior of Kalimantan. We hope that Sir, you can build our area, especially here. We don't have a traditional house. We can only use tents, sir," said Panglima Jilah in his remarks in front of the Vice President and his staff at the Patih Pattinggi Palace, Sepang Tong Village, Toho District, Mempawah Regency, West Kalimantan, Saturday, August 23.

Panglima Jilah mengatakan warga suku TBBR tidak memiliki rumah adat dan selama ini hanya menggunakan tenda.

He also asked the government to build a traditional house in the location which is surrounded by mountains so that it will have beautiful views to visit.

Responding to this, Vice President Gibran said that in accordance with President Prabowo Subianto's commitment, the government wants development not to focus on Java or Central Java.

Therefore, the Vice President is considering the construction of traditional houses for the people of TBBR together with local governments.

"Earlier, the Commander said that we asked to build a traditional house, so we'll see later. What kind of budget is it, where is it located, later we will work together with the Governor, the Regent," said Gibran.
