JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar is optimistic that People's Schools will be able to eradicate three million extreme poor people.

"The People's School will have an impact on the three million poor people who will be handled seriously," said Coordinating Minister Muhaimin Iskandar as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, August 23.

The reason is, the ongoing People's School program targets students who come from extreme poor families based on the National Sole Social Economic Data (DTSEN).

The People's School is one of President Prabowo Subianto's priority programs which aims to alleviate poverty.

Coordinating Minister Muhaimin said the increase in the number of People's Schools in the future would also have an impact on the 27 million poor people in the country.

Cak Imin asked the teaching staff of the People's School to be serious in teaching students academically and characterly.

"This is a very, very large capital for Indonesia's investment with a period of 15 to 20 years to come," said Muhaimin Iskandar.

In accordance with Presidential Instruction 8/2025, Coordinating Minister Muhaimin Iskandar was mandated by President Prabowo Subianto to coordinate 47 relevant ministries and institutions for the success of the People's School.

People's schools will become a home for empowerment for children from poor families in order to create empowered and independent human resources.

This program is also one of the efforts to break the chain of poverty by providing quality education to children from poor families.
