Kaesang About Wamenaker Noel Becomes A Suspect: Follow The Legal Process

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep appealed to the Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer Gerungan alias Noel who was caught in a sting operation (OTT) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to comply with the law and follow the legal process.

This was conveyed by Kaesang when asked for comment about the Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer Gerungan alias Noel who was caught in the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrest operation (OTT).

"Yes, everyone, whatever is involved in legal cases, we have to follow the legal process," said Kaesang as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, August 22.

Kaesang believes law enforcement officers will act professionally in eradicating corruption, which is one of President Prabowo Subianto's Astacita.

"We believe Mr. President, his program is for one of them to eradicate corruption," he said.

The KPK has named Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer Gerungan (IEG) as one of the suspects in the alleged extortion case related to the management of work safety and health certificates (K3) within the Ministry of Manpower.

"KPK raised this case to the investigation stage by naming 11 people as suspects, one of which is the IEG," said Setyo Budiyanto.

The KPK detained Wamenaker for the first 20 days, starting from August 22-10 September 2025 at the KPK branch detention center at the Red and White House

Wamenaker Noel is suspected of violating Article 12 letter e and/or Article 12B of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code.
