JAKARTA - The Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Yassierli respects the legal process being carried out by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) regarding the arrest operation (OTT) against the Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer alias Noel.

"I am concerned and regret the alleged corruption that is currently being processed by the KPK. I respect the legal process being carried out by the KPK, and support various steps taken by the KPK in taking action against corruption perpetrators," Yassierli said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 21.

The OTT, said Yassierli, was a major blow to him as the Minister of Manpower and the Ministry of Manpower's extended family (Kemnaker).

"For me and the Ministry of Manpower's extended family, this is a tough blow, especially since I was appointed Minister of Manpower or in the last 10 (ten) months, I have been doing a lot of improvements and structuring, especially regarding integrity, professionalism, and service improvements," said Yassierli.

In line with President Prabowo's directives, there is no tolerance for corrupt behavior, he has asked officials and ranks at the Ministry of Manpower to sign the Integrity Pact and is ready to be removed if they commit acts of corruption.

"Especially for K3 certification, we have implemented an Integrity Pact with nearly a thousand K3 Service Companies (PJK3) in Indonesia, to make a commitment so that there is no practice of bribery, extortion, and/or gratification. We ask the public to actively report if there is still such practice," he said.

In addition to the integrity pact, Yassierli has rotated employees who have been in position for more than 4 years, improved the service process so that it is more transparent and accountable, and revised various regulations related to K3 services. For example: Regulation of the Minister of Manpower (Permenaker) 33/2016, Permenaker 5/2018, Permenaker 8/2020, and Permenaker 4/1987 which have been completed harmonization.

"This incident must be used as a joint lesson, and I hope that in the future there will be no more people from the Ministry of Manpower involved in corrupt practices or irregularities in any form," he said.
