Secretary General Confirms DPR Members Get House Allowances Of IDR 50 Million Per Month

JAKARTA - The Secretary General (Secretary General) of the DPR, Indra Iskandar, confirmed that the members of the council received housing allowances worth IDR 50 million per month.

Indra said that the allowance was given because members of the DPR for the period 2024-2029 did not receive official housing facilities.

"That's right (there is a housing allowance of IDR 50 million per month)," said Indra in his statement, Wednesday, August 21.

Indra added that the rules related to the allowance are contained in the Circular Letter of the Secretariat General of the DPR RI Number KU.00/941/DPR RI/XII/2010.

Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Adies Kadir, assessed that the total allowance for DPR members with an amount of Rp. 50 million per month is still in a reasonable stage. In fact, he said that members of the council had added their own housing rental fees on the grounds that the price of housing rentals in the DPR complex area was above Rp. 70 million.

"I think it makes sense that IDR 50 million per month. That's for members, if the leader doesn't get an allowance because he gets an official house," he concluded.
