JAKARTA - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has warned the Jakarta Provincial Government to maintain a conducive environment for the 2025 Jakarta Jobfest, which will run until Wednesday, August 20th.

Pramono does not want this large-scale job fair at the Jakarta International Velodrome in Rawamangun, East Jakarta, to end in chaos, as has happened in other regions.

"I don't want this Jobfest to be like some incidents in other regions outside Jakarta, where there are not many vacancies available but tens of thousands register and attend, and some even faint. I don't want that to happen," Pramono said on Tuesday, August 19th.

Pramono explained the reason the Jakarta Provincial Government is holding Jobfest and several job fairs in Jakarta this year. According to him, the high unemployment rate is a priority issue to be addressed.

Not only Jakarta residents, but many people from outside the region are also looking for work in the capital, according to Pramono.

"One of the serious problems currently is the highly sought-after job vacancies, not only in Jakarta but also in other areas outside Jakarta. And Jakarta is opening up opportunities for anyone to find work," said Pramono.

Pramono asked his staff to ensure that the recruitment process resulting from Jobfest 2025 is conducted transparently and provides the widest possible opportunities for residents and anyone looking for work.

The Head of the Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Agency (DTKTE), Syaripudin, explained that the Jakarta Provincial Government has held 13 job fairs, with a target of 21 in 2025.

So far, 405 companies have participated, with more than 1,450 applicants received from a total of more than 3,700 applicants.

"The job seekers absorbed approximately 38.39 percent of the job fairs held throughout 2025," said Syaripudin.

At Jobfest 2025 at the Velodrome, Syaripudin stated that it will be held in a more open space and equipped with various services, such as civil registration administration services, permits, Samsat (State Vehicle Tax Office), a mobile training unit exhibition, entertainment performances, and career counseling from government and private sector sources.

"This way, job seekers who attend will be further facilitated in their job search process," he added.
