Xenia Driver Who Was Hit-and-Run In Badung Bali Arrested

BADUNG - The perpetrator of a hit-and-run with the initials IWW (50) in Badung, Bali, was arrested by police. The hit-and-run incident went viral on social media.

"For material losses of Rp500,000," said Kasat Lantas Badung Police, AKP Aan Saputra, in Mapolres Badung, Bali, Monday, May 10.

The hit-and-run incident occurred on Sunday, May 2, at Sibang Street, Abiansemal, Badung.

The driver of the Daihatsu Xenia police number DK 1451 FM grazed the victim's Honda Vario DK 5840 FAB motorcycle with the initials NAR along with its passenger with the initials AAS.

At first this driver tried to get ahead of the bike. Suddenly this car grazed the motorcycle until the rider along with one person who was driven crashed on the road.

"And unexpectedly the rider or (perpetrator) continued to drive at his speed and immediately left the crime scene (crime scene)," he added.

Two of the victims were injured and treated at Sanglah Denpasar Hospital. Police then searched for the offender whose video went viral and arrested him on Monday, May 3.

"Conducting preliminary interrogations of witnesses and victims where it was concluded that the driver of the Xenia vehicle, violated articles 311 and 312 of Law No. 22 of 2009 on Traffic and Road Transport with the threat of one year in prison," said AKP Aan Saputra.
