JAKARTA - Member of Commission X DPR RI, Adde Rosi Khoerunnisa, emphasized the importance of using the education budget effectively and on target.

He made this statement following the determination of the education budget in the 2026 RAPBN which reached Rp757.8 trillion

"If the education budget is not used properly and does not focus, then the potential for leakage will continue to occur and the quality of education will decrease," said Adde, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, August 16.

According to Adde, the improper use of educational funds can have an impact on the growth of the quality of Indonesian human resources (HR).

He also highlighted several issues regarding the allocation of educational funds, one of which was budget management for Ministries / Institutions (PTKL) which were considered not on target.

Adde explained, in the 2025 State Budget, PTKL spent 39 percent of the education function budget. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education and Technology only manages 22 percent.

In fact, he assessed that the number of students at PTKL was much smaller than the students at PTN, which was 200 thousand.

The number of PTN students itself was recorded at 3.9 million in state universities (PTN) and 4.4 million in private universities (PTS).

The implementation of PTKL is currently spread across 24 ministries and institutions with a total of 124 universities and 892 study programs.

"It is necessary to organize and simplify PTKL, including removing generalized study programs that are not in accordance with the mandate of the law," he said.

In addition to PTKL and PTN, Adde also highlighted Prabowo Subianto's statement that he wanted to improve the welfare of teachers and through the allocation of funds of IDR 178.7 trillion.

"The welfare of teachers is the key to quality education, because teachers and lecturers are the driving force for knowledge transformation," added Addede.

Therefore, Adde ensured that his party from the Golkar faction fully supported Prabowo's plan to budget for educational funds.

"We will ensure that quality education can be enjoyed by all Indonesian people," said Adde.

To note, the government has set an education budget of IDR 757.8 trillion for the 2026 RAPBN, or equivalent to 20 percent of the APBN in accordance with the mandate of the law.

The 20 percent budget of the total APBN will be focused on improving the quality and welfare of teachers and lecturers, scholarships for students and students, strengthening educational infrastructure, and the relevant curriculum.
