'Poor People Who Are Sick', Criticism Of The NTB Legislator About The Slow SPB At The Port Of Kayangan, East Lombok

MATARAM - Member of Commission IV for Infrastructure and Environment of the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) DPRD, Syamsul Fikri, highlighted the policy of implementing the Departure Order (SPB) process for ferry ships at Kayangan Harbor, East Lombok, which is considered to slow down services to the community.

The SPB process from Syahbandar takes about 1.5 hours after the car and motorbike enter the ship. Passengers have to wait about an hour. This makes service ineffective," said Syamsul in Mataram, quoted from Antara, Friday, August 15.

According to Syamsul, the impact of this policy makes passengers have to queue and wait for hours on the ship, including emergency passengers who need quick treatment.

It's a pity people who are sick are transported by ambulances and cannot enter directly. What if it's an emergency? " he criticized.

Although he admits that SPB is useful in terms of shipping safety because there is data collection on passengers, Syamsul believes that this policy should not sacrifice the interests of the community, especially in emergency conditions.

"Services can be delayed for more than half an hour. Safety is important, but don't let it slow down emergency handling," he said.

Syamsul asked the NTB Transportation Service (Dishub) to change the SPB policy imposed by Syahbandar. According to him, crossing services must be accelerated without neglecting passenger data collection.

"Service must be accelerated, data collection is okay, but don't slow down," he said.

He also urged the NTB Transportation Agency to summon Syahbandar to evaluate policies that are considered not pro-primary.

“Kalau mau mengambil kebijakan, harus strategis. Jangan sampai kebijakan justru mempersulit masyarakat,” pungkasnya.

"If you want to take policies, you have to be strategic. Do not let policies make it difficult for the community," he concluded.
