Gerindra About Megawati Not Attending The Annual Session Of President Prabowo's Era: The Relation Between The Two Is Good And Cool

JAKARTA - Secretary General of the Gerindra Party, Sugiono commented on the absence of the 5th President who is also the Chairperson of the PDIP, Megawati Soekarnoputri at the MPR RI annual session which was held at the Parliament Complex today. Sugiono denied Megawati's absence related to her relationship with President Prabowo Subianto's administration.

"I don't think there is any business. The relationship between the two (Megawati and Prabowo, ed) is good, cool," said Sugiono at the Senayan Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Friday, August 15.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs assessed Megawati as a former president and chairman of the political party, of course, has been officially invited by the MPR RI as the organizer of the annual trial. So according to her, Megawati's absence does not need to be related to her relationship with Pepbowo.

"I think it was invited. But I also don't know if he has another event. But as far as I remember, it should be, yes, usually there are invitations every year," said Sugiono.

Previously, the Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives and the Chairperson of the PDIP DPP Puan Maharani revealed the reason Megawati was absent at the annual session of the MPR RI. In fact, two other former presidents, namely Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and Joko Widodo, attended the event.

Puan revealed that Megawati had a health problem. "Not healthy," said Puan.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly from the PAN faction, Eddy Soeparno, said that the invitation to Megawati had been delivered by the Secretary General of the MPR RI. He also did not know about the reasons for the absence.

"We don't know, that's our Secretariat General of the MPR. I got yesterday's assignment from the MPR leadership based on a meeting of the MPR leadership to deliver an invitation to the 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Jokowi," said Eddy.

"We hope that later in the August 17 celebration which will be held on Sunday at the Palace, our former heads of state, our vice president, will also be present to enliven," added the Deputy Head of PAN.
