The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has made the decision letter or Decree of the Minister of Religion (menag) signed by Yaqut Cholil Qoumas or Gus Yaqut as one of the evidences in the case of distributing the 2024 additional hajj quota at the Ministry of Religion.
"We will need a lot of this evidence, one of which we have obtained a certificate (menag)," said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, Tuesday, August 12.
Asep revealed that investigators are further investigating the process of issuing the Menagi decree regarding the distribution of the additional 2024 hajj quota.
Investigators want to ascertain whether the decree was prepared directly by the Minister of Religion Yaqut or if there was intervention from other parties which was then offered to be signed by the person concerned. The KPK is also investigating who ordered the distribution of the additional hajj quota.
Based on the Decree of the Minister of Religion Number 130 of 2024, the additional hajj quota given by the Government of Saudi Arabia is 20,000 pilgrims divided by 10,000 for regular Hajj and 10,000 special hajj quotas.
