DKI Opens Vacancies For 1,000 Firefighters, DPRD Reminds Extortion Free Selection

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government officially opened the recruitment of officers from the DKI Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) today, Tuesday, August 12.

Secretary of Commission A of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Mujiyono, emphasized that the DKI Provincial Government must ensure that the selection process runs transparently without involvement of brokers or illegal levies.

"We emphasize that the selection process must be transparent, fair, and free of extortion, with the placement of personnel who are right on target according to the competence and needs of each region," Mujiyono told reporters, Tuesday, August 12.

Although residents outside the region are allowed to register, Mujiyono also demands that the DKI Provincial Government commit to prioritizing registration receipts for Jakarta residents.

"In our opinion, Jakarta residents should still be a priority," said Mujiyono.

Their status will be employees of other individual service providers (PJLP). In the provisions provided, residents who apply to become firefighters and pass the selection must be committed not to demand the appointment of positions as state civil servants (ASN).

Mujiyono assessed that this requirement did need to be emphasized from the beginning of the registration stage so that it would not become a polemic in the future.

"From the start, it is necessary to explain that the work status is PJLP, so there is no automatic hope to be appointed as a civil servant in the future. This is important so as not to cause wrong expectations for the community," he explained.

Registration is valid for 3 days, from 12 to 14 August 2025. Then, the announcement of the results of the administrative evaluation on 15 August 2025.

Then, proof of registration documents and requirements on August 19-22 2025, and announcement of document proof on August 25.

Applicants who pass the administrative selection will undergo physical tests from August 26 to September 17, 2025.

Physical tests will be carried out by Kodam Jaya, located at Brigif 1/Jaya Sakti, Kalisari, East Jakarta. At this stage, applicants will undergo a physical fitness test A (run 12 minutes), freshness of Jasmani B (pull up, sit up, push up, shuttle run), posture (height and weight, body anatomy, appearance), and 25 meters of swimming.

After that, the DKI Gulkarmat Service will announce 1,000 applicants who passed the selection on September 18, 2025, followed by the signing of the work contract on October 1, 2025.
