DENPASAR - I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali, recorded its busiest month for passenger service from January to July 2025.
I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport General Manager Ahmad Syaugi Shahab explained this because the number of passengers reached 2,356,143 people.
"During July, the airport, which serves as Bali's main gateway, served a total of 2,356,143 people, the highest figure in 2025. 891,466 domestic passengers, or 38 percent of the total, were served, while the remaining 62 percent were international passengers, amounting to 1,464,677," he said on Monday, August 11.
Calculated as a daily average, 76,005 passengers traveled through I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport during July 2025, a 22 percent increase compared to the daily average of 63,117 passengers per day during the first semester.
Ahmad Syaugi stated that the high number of passengers was accompanied by an increase in flight traffic.
"In July 2025, there were 13,127 aircraft movements, consisting of 6,070 domestic flights and 7,057 international flights," he said.
The average daily flight traffic reached 423 movements, while the daily average from January to June 2025 was 381 flights, representing an 11 percent increase.
Airport management observed high passenger movements throughout July due to the school holidays and summer break.
However, compared to previous long holiday periods, July's performance remained superior.
For example, during the New Year and Eid al-Fitr holidays in 2025, daily passenger numbers only ranged from 62,000 to 72,000, compared to 76,000 last month.
"This is the highest daily average for 2025. We see a positive trend at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport because July is still the school and summer holidays period, so public demand for vacations to Bali remains very high," said Ahmad Syaugi.
"In fact, based on the data we processed, during the peak return flow of school holidays, we served more than 79,000 passengers with 441 arrivals and departures, which occurred on July 11, 2025," he continued.
With the high surge in July, Ngurah Rai Airport recorded a cumulative total of 13,780,388 passengers from January to July 2025, consisting of 5,076,296 domestic passengers and 8,704,092 international passengers using its air transportation services.
The three most popular routes based on the number of passengers and flights are Jakarta (CKG) with 416,526 passengers, followed by Singapore with 2,74,555 passengers, and Kuala Lumpur with 165,507 passengers.
