East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Governor Melki Laka Lena said he was ready to help Sergeant Major Christian Namo and his wife and extended family to get justice for the death of their second child, Prada Lucky Saputra Namo, who was allegedly abused by his senior.
"We help make sure the family gets justice as fairly as possible," said Melki in Kupang, Monday, August 11.
Melki made this statement after visiting the funeral home and meeting the father and mother of the late Prada Lucky who had been buried on Saturday, August 9.
Melki emphasized that he and the leaders of the Indonesian Army in NTT, Bali, and Jakarta will oversee and fully support the legal process against the perpetrators.
"As the Governor of NTT, I support the steps and attitudes of the parents of Prada Lucky, Pak Kristian Namo and Mrs. Seprina Paulina Mirpey, carry out legal processes and efforts for the death of Prada Lucky," he said.
He appreciated the wishes of Prada Lucky's parents who hoped that there would be no more similar incidents in the future. Melki also emphasized that violence would no longer be fatal, both during education and while working, in all state institutions.
"Both the TNI and Polri, as well as other institutions in this country, no more violence," said Melki.
Prada Lucky Saputra Namo passed away on Wednesday, August 6, after undergoing intensive treatment at the Aeramo Hospital ICU, Nagekeo Regency.
Prada Lucky's death was allegedly due to being abused by a number of his seniors. Of the 20 people being questioned, four of them have been named as suspects.
