The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named East Kolaka Regent Abdul Azis as a suspect in alleged bribery related to the construction of a regional public hospital (RSUD).

Abdul Azis officially took an orange dream with four other people after being caught in a hand arrest operation (OTT) on Thursday, August 7 night.

Azis is known to have been inaugurated as East Kolaka Regent by President Prabowo Subianto at the State Palace, Jakarta on Thursday, February 20, 2025.

"Determining five people as suspects, namely ABZ as the Regent of East Kolaka 2024-2029," said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu at a press conference at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Saturday, August 9 in the morning.

Apart from Azis, the four other people who are suspects are Andi Lukman Hakim as PIC of the Ministry of Health for RSUD Development; Ageng Dermanto as Commitment Making Officer (PPK) for the RSUD Development Project in East Kolaka; Deddy Karnady who is a representative of PT Pilar Pintar Putra (PCP); and Arif Rahman as KSO of PT PCP.

"KPK then detained for the first 20 days, starting from August 8-27, 2025 at the KPK branch of the KPK Detention Center, the Red and White Building," said Asep, who is also the Director of KPK Investigation.

Deddy and Arif Rahman as bribe givers are suspected of violating Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or b or Article 13 of the Corruption Eradication Law (UU Tipikor) in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 1 of the Criminal Code.

Meanwhile, Abdul Azis, Ageng Dermanto, and Andi Lukman as bribe recipients were suspected of violating Article 12 letter a or b or Article 11 and Article 12 B of the Anti-Corruption Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 of the Criminal Code.

After carrying out this silent operation, the KPK will coordinate and supervise more intensively so that corruption prevention can be carried out. This is because RSUD is part of the national priority program.

"In addition, the KPK also measures the level of corruption vulnerability and provides recommendations for improvement to ministries, institutions, and local governments through the Integrity Assessment Survey (SPI)," concluded Asep.
