TNI Commander Appoints Andyawan Martono As Pangkohanudnas

JAKARTA - TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto appointed TNI Intermediate Marshal (Marsdya) Andyawan Martono Putra to be Commander of the National Air Defense Command (Pangkohanudnas).

Andyawan's appointment was contained in the Decree of the TNI Commander Number Kep/1033/VIII/2025.

Previously, the three-star Indonesian Air Force officer had served as Deputy Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Air Force (Waksu) and finally became the Special Staff of the KSAU.

Reported by ANTARA, Friday, August 8, the Head of the Information Center (Kapuspen) of TNI Headquarters Major General Kristomei Sianturi confirmed the rotation of the position.

However, Kristomei has not been able to confirm when the handover of the position or inauguration will take place.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto through Presidential Decree No. 84/2025, reactivated Kohanudnas, which was previously merged into the National Air Operations Command in 2022.

In the Presidential Decree, the rules regarding Kohanudnas can be found in Article 55A paragraph (1), paragraph (2), and paragraph (3).

Regarding the scope of his duties, Kohanudnas is tasked with holding an integrated security defense over the national air space independently or collaborating with other Main Operations Commands (Kotama Ops) in order to realize the sovereignty and integrity as well as other interests of the Republic of Indonesia, and carry out operational alerts for air defense elements in its ranks in order to support the main tasks of the TNI.

Meanwhile, the National Air Operations Command, as regulated in Article 58 paragraph (1), is tasked with carrying out air dimension defense operations in accordance with the policies of the Commander in Chief and law enforcement and maintaining security in the national airspace in accordance with the provisions of the legislation.
