YOGYAKARTA - The Indonesian National Police (Polri) again made a massive mutation earlier this month. In this rotation, as many as 61 high-ranking officers (pati) and middle-ranking officers (pamen) experienced a change of position.

"Overall, 61 personnel were transferred, with details of 34 promotion/flat personnel, 4 special assignment personnel (Gassus), and 23 retired personnel," said Head of Public Relations Division Inspector General of Police Sandi Nugroho in a written statement, Tuesday, August 5.

This mutation is contained in the National Police Chief's Decree Number Kep/1186/VIII/2025 and ST/1764/VIII/KEP./2025. One of them is the appointment of Komjen Syahardiantono as Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency (Kabareskrim) of the National Police.

Syahardiantono replaces Komjen Wahyu Widada, who is now trusted to carry out his duties as Inspector of General Supervision (Irwasum) of the National Police.

Being the head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police is nothing new for Komjen Syahardiantono. Previously, he had served as Deputy Chief of Criminal Investigation in 2021, and is now again trusted to lead one of the important elements in the National Police structure.

Syahardiantono was born in Blora, Central Java, on February 2, 1970. He graduated from the Police Academy (Akpol) in 1991 and is in the same class as the current National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

Since the beginning of his career, Syahar, as he is familiarly called, has shown extraordinary dedication in the field of detective. His career began with the position of Head of Kasat II of the East Java Police Ditreskrim in 2025.

Three years later he became the Head of the Pasuruan City Police and was appointed the Pasuruan Police Chief in 2010. After that, Syahar continued his service as Deputy Director of Criminal Investigation of the East Java Police in 2011 and Head of Sub-Directorate VI Dittipideksus Bareskrim Polri in 2012.

In 2014, Syahar was assigned as Dirreskrimsus of the Riau Islands Police, and two years later filled the position of Widyaiswara Muda at the National Police's Lemdikpol Sespimmen.

Syahardiantono continues to be trusted to occupy various strategic positions. In 2018, he served as Head of the Public Information Section (Kabag Penum) in the Public Relations Division of the National Police, before finally becoming Head of the Information and Data Management Bureau (Karo PID) in 2019.

2020 became another important point in his career when he was appointed as Director of Certain Crimes (Dirtipidter) at Bareskrim. In this position, Syahar had arrested the lobster seed smuggling case and succeeded in arresting the suspect, Kusmianto alias Lim Swie King.

Only then in 2021, Syahar was trusted as Deputy Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police. After that in 2022, Syahardiantono received the mandate as Head of the National Police's Professional and Security Division (Kadiv Propam) replacing Ferdy Sambo who was caught up in a legal case.

In the midst of a crisis of public trust in police institutions, Syahar's presence as a figure who is known clean and firm is a strategic step by the National Police Chief to restore institutional integrity.

Furthermore, in 2024, Syahar is trusted to serve as Head of the National Police Intelligence and Security Agency (Kabaintelkam), expanding his scope of duties in the intelligence realm of the national police.

Besides being known as a professional general in the police institution, Syahardiantono also has a social and religious side, especially for his hometown in Blora. Blora Regent, Arief Rohman, praised Syahar's concern for his concern for developing the region.

"Pak Syahar really cares about the region, especially he oversees related to the potential in Blora, both in the social, religious fields. He builds schools, builds mosques, he also concentrates on developing agriculture, and also in the oil and gas sector, he also has a hand in guarding the potential for oil and gas in Blora," said Arief Rohman when met by reporters at the Blora DPRD Building, Central Java, Wednesday, August 6.

This shows that Syahar does not forget the roots and moral responsibilities of his hometown. His firm and social care figure made him a role model, not only in the police sphere, but also in the community.
