JAKARTA - The Badung District Attorney (Kajari) in Bali has demanded that the defendant Reza Masomi (43), a citizen (WN) of the United States (US) be imprisoned for seven months in a television theft case belonging to an inn in Kuta, Bali.
Badung District Prosecutor Dian Saraswati in her indictment read out before the Denpasar District Court, Bali, Thursday stated that the defendant Reza Masomi was legally and convincingly proven to have committed a criminal act of theft in violation of Article 362 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) as stated in the Public Prosecutor's single indictment.
"The defendant Reza Masomi was sentenced to 7 (seven) months in prison minus the period of arrest and detention of the defendant, with the defendant's order being detained," said the prosecutor, confiscated by Antara.

In the indictment, the prosecutor explained that initially the defendant Reza was staying in room 210 at the Suardana Inn Hotel owned by witness I Made Aron Suardana from May 9, 2025, until May 14, 2025.
When the defendant Reza Masomi was about to leave or check out from the Suardana Inn Hotel, namely on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at around 11.00 WITA, the defendant Reza Masomi took a black 32 Inc TV brand Changhong belonging to the witness which was installed on the wall of room 210 at the Suardana Inn Hotel.
"The defendant took the Changhong 32 Inc TV by lifting and removing the TV attached to the wall using his hands, then the defendant put the Changhong 32 Inc TV in a suitcase," said the prosecutor.

After taking the 32 Inc TV, the defendant Reza Masomi left the Suardana Inn hotel and then stayed at Cempaka 2 Accomodation Jalan Poppies, Kuta Village, Kuta District, Badung Berhitung Regency Number 10.
For his actions, witness Made Aron Suardana as the owner of the inn suffered a material loss of Rp. 3 million. The witness also reported the incident to the Police.
On May 19, 2025, Reza Masomi was arrested by the police.
Responding to the prosecutor's demands, the defendant Reza Masomi asked the panel of judges for relief to release him from the charges.
