Prabowo Reminds Economic Gejolak Due To Geopoliticals While Leading 8th Cabinet Session At The Palace

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto chaired the Plenary Cabinet Session at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday, August 6 afternoon.

Today's Plenary Cabinet session, the President was accompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. This is the eighth cabinet session held during President Prabowo's administration since taking office on October 20, 2024.

In this Cabinet Session, President Prabowo again praised the performance of the Red and White Cabinet.

"I feel that you are working as a team. I think without your hard work as a team, it is impossible for us to achieve what we have achieved today. In a short time we have achieved a lot," said President Prabowo while giving directions at the Plenary Cabinet Session, which was confiscated by Antara.

President Prabowo then also praised his staff for remaining calm and focusing on working on their duties in the midst of the global geopolitical and geoeconomic uncertainty situation.

The president later mentioned the Ukraine-Russia war, genocide in Gaza, the Israeli military action annexed the West Bank, the Thailand-Kamboja armed conflict, the civil war in Myanmar, and also the economic turmoil caused by US tariffs, all of which had an impact on geopolitical and geoeconomic dynamics in the region and the world.

"We are not provoked. We understand that we have a big interest. The task of the Indonesian government is to protect the Indonesian people, protect our workers and their families," continued the President.

In this afternoon's Plenary Cabinet Session, the ranks of ministers and deputy ministers who attended were Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan, Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Budi Gunawan, Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, and Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono.
