Oil Well Explosion In Subang, Pertamina: The Fire Is Under Control

PT Pertamina EP Subang Field stated that the fire that appeared due to the explosion at the CO2 Removal gas line, at Subang Collection Station, Cidahu Village, West Pagaden District, Subang Regency, West Java (West Java) had been successfully extinguished.

Pertamina EP Communication Relations & CID Manager, Pinto Budi Bowo Laksono said the explosion occurred on Tuesday morning, at around 04:30 WIB.

"Then at 06:41 WIB the fire was successfully extinguished by the Pertamina EP Subang Field Emergency Management Team," said Pinto, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 5.

It was stated that the Pertamina EP Subang Field Emergency Management Team extinguished the source of the fire and carried out mitigation measures to control conditions.

Pinto explained that all handling steps were carried out in accordance with the standards of Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) implemented by the Company. Pertamina EP ensures that the situation at the location remains safe and under control.

He conveyed that Pertamina EP had formed an investigation team to find out the cause of this incident.

Pertamina EP's oil well in Cikaret Hamlet, Cidahu Village, West Pagaden District, Subang Regency, West Java was initially reported to have exploded and caused flames through reports from residents uploaded to a number of social media channels.

In a video circulating on a number of social media channels, Tuesday morning, a fire was caught rising high into the sky due to an explosion followed by the emergence of fire from an oil well belonging to Pertamina EP in Subang.

In the video footage, you can see a big flames accompanied by the sound of a booming explosion, making people panic and scared.

A resident who recorded the incident described the panic atmosphere as the fire soared from the location of the exploding well.

It was also recorded that the fire spread to several points due to the explosion in the area of Pertamina EP's well.
