Raid Nightclubs, Central Java BNN Emphasizes Prevention And Psychological Effects For Dealers

SEMARANG - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of Central Java Province continues to intensify raids at nightclubs in an effort to suppress narcotics trafficking while creating psychological and social effects for perpetrators and potential perpetrators of illicit drug trafficking.

Head of the Central Java BNN Eradication and Intelligence Division, Kombes Henry Julius Pardomuan, said that this raid was not only aimed at detecting narcotics abuse. It also raises collective awareness to prevent the circulation of prohibited goods.

"The presence of BNN at vulnerable points not only encourages supervision of drug trafficking, but also builds an environment that is more aware of potential abuse," Henry said in Semarang, Antara, Monday, August 4.

According to him, prevention can be started from proactive nightclub entrepreneurs using their businesses as drug-free zones.

"Through cooperation between owners of entertainment venues and stakeholders, we can create a safe and healthy recreation space," he said.

The Central Java National Narcotics Agency held raids at three nightclubs in Semarang City from Saturday to Sunday. A total of 35 people consisting of visitors and employees of entertainment venues underwent a urine test in the operation.

"All urine test results state negative for drugs," Henry said.
