20 Landslide Points Hit Banyumas, BPBD: House Walls To Motorcycles Carried By Landslides

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) intensified disaster emergency management and cross-sectoral coordination after heavy rains that caused floods and landslides in a number of areas in Banyumas Regency, Central Java, on Sunday, August 3 afternoon until evening.

Head of BPBD Banyumas Budi Nugroho said, based on observations, landslides and floods occurred in Baturraden, Sokaraja, Kedungbanteng, Kembaran, and Pekuncen sub-districts.

"Handling continues to be carried out by involving the Rapid Response Team (TRC) and cross-sectoral support. A number of incidents have been handled, such as floods in Kutasari Village (Baturraden) and Karangduren Village (Sokaraja), as well as landslides at several points that have been carried out. fast assessment and emergency handling," he said in Purwokerto, Banyumas Regency, Monday, confiscated by Antara.

He said, from all affected areas, Kedungbanteng District was the main focus because there were more than 20 landslide points spread across a number of villages, including Melung, Kutaliman, Kalikesur, Windujaya, and Kalisalak villages.

According to him, several landslide points have disrupted district and village access roads, and some residents' houses were damaged by landslides.

"One of them is in Kutalima Village RT 04 RW 07 (Kedungbanteng), the walls of houses and motorbikes of residents carried by landslides," he said.

He said the Banyumas BPBD had carried out rapid assessments and emergency handling at several crucial points such as landslides that closed the main road connecting Kutaliman Village, as well as landslides in Kutaliman Village RT 03 RW 04 which closed the district road.

According to him, BPBD also recorded landslides that damaged the infrastructure of residents' houses, such as in Windujaya Village RT 01 RW 01, where the walls of houses broke down due to landslides.

In addition, he said, landslides that occurred near the Kepenger hydropower plant and the Melung Village Hall were being studied for further handling.

"In Baturraden District, the overflow flood in Kutasari Village has been handled and the situation has been declared under control. In Sokaraja District, the overflowing flood that occurred in Karangduren Village has also receded and further coordination is carried out," he said.

He said the landslide in Dukuhaluh Village, Kembaran District, caused the wall warehouse fence to collapse to the shoulder of the highway, and temporary handling had been carried out.

Meanwhile, in Pekuncen District, he said, landslides were reported to have occurred at three points in Krajan Village which threatened settlements and environmental road access.

"We are still collecting data and coordinating with the local village government," he said.

Furthermore, he said the Banyumas Regency BPBD Disaster Management Operations Control Center (Pusdalops-PB) continues to monitor weather and disaster events intensively through the Ronwasna application (Disaster Alert Ronda).

In addition, he said, BPBD also opens communication channels for people who want to report disasters in their respective areas, so that handling can be carried out quickly and on target.

According to him, coordination was also carried out with the TNI, Polri, technical services, and disaster volunteers to accelerate responses in the field.

"We urge the public, especially those in areas prone to landslides and floods, to remain vigilant, especially in extreme weather conditions like today," said Budi.
