Examining The Mayor Of Cimahi Ajay M Priatna, The Corruption Eradication Commission Investigates Alleged Case Brokerage Investigators

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is examining the inactive Mayor of Cimahi, Ajay M Priatna. This examination was carried out at the Sukamiskin Prison, Bandung.

Ajay was examined as a witness in the alleged bribery case that ensnared KPK investigator Stepanus Robin Pattuju, who became a suspect in receiving bribes to stop handling corruption cases.

"The investigating team conducted an in-depth examination through the testimonies of the witnesses regarding the information regarding the handling of Ajay M Priatna's legal problems which were allegedly carried out by those who are not KPK investigators", said KPK spokesman for the field of prosecution Ali Fikri in a written statement, Friday, May 7.

Apart from questioning Ajay, KPK investigators on Thursday, May 6 also examined two other people from the private sector, namely Radian Azhar and Syaiful Bahri.

"The KPK continues to explore any information related to the alleged receipt of a sum of money by the suspect Stepanus Robin Pattuju and other parties on behalf of KPK investigators on the pretext of being able to help settle cases at the KPK", he said.

As previously reported, the KPK questioned five officials at the Cimahi City Government on Wednesday, May 5.

The five witnesses summoned and questioned were the Regional Secretary of Cimahi City, Dikdik Suratno Nugrahawan; Head of Cimahi City PMPTSP Service, Hella Haerani; Head of the PUPR Cimahi City Service, Meity Mustika; and Head of the Cimahi City Environmental Service. Then, Muhammad Roni; and Assistant Economic Development for the Mayor of Cimahi, Ahmad Nuryana.

The inactive Mayor of Cimahi, Ajay M Priyatna, recently admitted that he was asked for IDR 5 billion by someone claiming to be a KPK investigator. This confession was conveyed during the trial where he sat as a defendant who received bribes related to infrastructure development in Cimahi City.

Meanwhile, Stepanus Robin Pattuju is a KPK investigator who is a suspect in accepting bribes. He received a bribe from the Mayor of Tanjungbalai M Syahrial amounting to IDR 1.3 billion for an attempt to stop the investigation of alleged corruption in the sale and purchase of positions.
