Warner Bros. Delays Release Of The Batman And The Flash

JAKARTA - Warner Bros. is the next production house to announce the postponement of a number of films to be released including The Many Saints of Newark and The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson. This news was announced on Tuesday, April 21, United States (US) time.

The Batman was originally scheduled to air on June 25, 2021 but the release date was changed to October 1, 2021. The reason is because the production team had to pause the shooting process due to the corona virus or COVID-19 pandemic so it is likely that the film will not be finished this year. Warner Bros. has shown the first teaser as a 'teaser' for the anticipation of the audience.

The corona virus has had a negative effect on the entertainment industry, especially film. Since the pandemic was announced, cinemas around the world have been urged to close their services during this global crisis. This also had an impact on the filming process so that the production house had to postpone the screening of a number of films.

In contrast, last week, US president Donald Trump announced that cinemas could resume business within the next few months. But the response was not greeted positively but negatively. Experts question whether theaters can quickly return to profit even if they open when the situation is not safe?

Several films such as Wonder Woman 1984, Tenet, and Mulan remain optimistic about being released to the public this summer. However, that does not mean that this is a sign that this pandemic will end before summer. They have to start thinking of alternatives if the cinema is still not operational in the summer.

Warner Bros. also postponed the broadcast of The Flash to June 2, 2022, one month from the previous schedule of July 1. Currently, The Flash is being questioned, after its main character Ezra Miller ran into controversy because he choked fans while talking to him.

Apart from The Batman and The Flash, Shazam 2 was also postponed to November 4, 2022. The Elvis Prestley biopic starring Austin Butler and Tom Hanks was also postponed to October 1, 2021.

This was done after the main character Tom Hanks tested positive for COVID-19. Hanks has been declared cured, but he is still recovering regarding this case.

On the other hand, the US has the highest number of cases in the world with 800,198 cases. A total of 42,940 cases were declared dead while 72,761 were declared cured.
