BANDA ACEH - The Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Aceh Besar District Attorney (Kejari) executed two convicts in a corruption case in the construction of the Lamtamot Health Center, Aceh Besar District, to the Class IIA Penitentiary (Lapas) Banda Aceh.

The execution was carried out after the Supreme Court (MA) handed down a verdict that had permanent legal force or inkrah against the two convicts.

The two convicts were executed at the Class IIA Banda Aceh Prison. They were sentenced to one year in prison each and a fine of Rp. 50 million, subsidiary to two months in prison," said Head of the Intelligence Section of the Aceh Besar Kejari, Filman Ramadhan, in Banda Aceh, Anatara, Tuesday, July 29.

The two convicts are Marizka Razi, Deputy Director of CV Selendang Enjoy, project implementing partner, and Said Isa, who used the company to participate in the auction.

Both were found guilty of violating Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 Paragraph (1) letters a and b, as well as Paragraph (2) and (3) of Law Number 31 of 1999 which has been amended into Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.

Not only imprisonment and fines, both of them were also sentenced to pay compensation for state losses amounting to Rp61.87 million each. If they are not paid, then their property will be confiscated and auctioned off. If the assets are insufficient, they will serve an additional two months in prison.

"This corruption crime began with the construction project of the Lamtamot Health Center in 2019 which was budgeted by the Aceh Besar District Health Office in the amount of Rp. 2.8 billion. In its implementation, CV Selendang Enjoys winning the auction with a contract value of Rp. 2.6 billion," said Filman.

However, in its implementation, it was found that work did not meet specifications, including a shortage of work volume which resulted in state losses of Rp. 257.7 million.

Filman menegaskan, eksekusi ini merupakan bagian dari komitmen Kejaksaan dalam menegakkan hukum secara tegas dan profesional.

"This is a form of deterrent effect for perpetrators of corruption, especially in the government environment," he said.

Previously, the Aceh Besar Kejari had also executed one other convict in the same case, namely T Zahlul Fitri as the Technical Implementing Officer of Activities (PPTK). He was also sentenced to one year in prison and a fine of Rp. 50 million, subsidiary to two months in prison, and is currently serving a sentence at Banda Aceh Prison.
