Minister Of PDTT: Village Apparatus Is The Key To Successful National Programs

BOGOR Minister of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration (Mendes PDTT) of the Republic of Indonesia, Yandri Susanto, emphasized the importance of the role of village officials as the spearhead of government and development at the lowest level. This statement was made while attending the inauguration of the Bogor Regency Association of Indonesian Village Apparatus (PPDI) management for the 2025 2030 term, which was held at the Regional Secretariat Auditorium, Cibinong, Monday, July 28.

The event was also attended by the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Bogor Regency, Ajat Rochmat Jatnika, who represented the Bogor Regent, as well as representatives of the West Java Provincial Government, the Bogor Regency Forkopimda, the Head of the Community and Village Empowerment Service, and the Bogor Regency PPDI management.

In his remarks, Yandri said that almost all national programs are currently targeted directly at the village. Some of them are the Red and White Village Cooperative program, Village Owned Enterprises (BUMDes), Free Nutrition Food programs, and the Red and White Family Cooperative.

According to Yandri, village officials play a strategic role in the success of President Prabowo Subianto's priority programs at the grassroots level. He assessed that cohesiveness and the spirit of work of village officials were the keys to the successful implementation of these various programs.

If this village apparatus has a strong spirit and good unity, I am sure that the movement in the village will get better. That is the key to the success of implementing the President's program," he said.

Yandri also reminded all components of the village government, ranging from village heads, staff, to RT and RW, to maintain cohesiveness and show their best performance. He emphasized the importance of being an example in their respective environment so that government programs run on target.

On that occasion, Yandri proposed the concept of village development or RT thematics that were adjusted to regional potential. He gave an example of the existence of RT chili, RT tomatoes, RT pakcoy, to RT laying, which can be a solution for providing raw materials for free nutritious eating programs, while strengthening the role of village cooperatives as a content for production.

This proposal, according to him, requires a strong commitment from local governments, especially the Bogor Regent, to map village potential and encourage community-based economic strengthening.

In addition, Yandri also emphasized the importance of supervision in the management of village funds and village cooperatives. As Deputy Chair of the Village Cooperative National Task Force, he ensured that his party would tighten monitoring and supervision in all regions.

"This effort is expected to be able to build a village that is independent, productive, and is at the forefront of people-based national development," said Yandri.

Meanwhile, the Regional Secretary of Bogor Regency, Ajat Rochmat Jatnika, who read out the direction of the Bogor Regent, said that village officials such as village secretaries, hamlets, and treasurers have a vital role in the wheels of government which directly come into contact with the community.

Ajat also highlighted the unclear status of staffing and welfare of village officials which had been a challenge. He considered that the existence of PPDI was very strategic in fighting for the rights and proper protection for village officials.

"We all know that so far village officials have faced problems with unclear employment status and inadequate welfare. Therefore, the existence of PPDI is very important," he said.

He emphasized the local government's commitment to continue to maintain synergy between the government, village heads, and village officials to make regional development a success.

"Make PPDI a shared house that strengthens the position of village officials. Let's together create a developed, independent, and competitive Bogor Regency with professional, competent, and prosperous village officials," concluded Ajat.
