MEULABOH - The West Aceh Regency Government involves family hope program (PKH) officers in registering and recruiting prospective People's School students in the local area.
"We involve PKH officers so that later prospective students who study at the People's School will really come from poor or extreme poor families," said Acting Head of the West Aceh District Social Service, Teuku Remi Ilham Putra, in Meulaboh, Saturday.
He explained, according to regulations, the process of recruiting prospective People's School students does involve the pillars of PKH officers, because prospective students who will be directors also use PKH data.
There is also a target for recruiting prospective students from deciles one to five, or according to the level of community welfare.
As is known, decile one is the lowest 10 percent group of the community in terms of welfare levels, which are calculated nationally.

In the context of social assistance such as PKH and BPNT, decile 1 is usually a family that is categorized as very poor or extreme poor, with per capita expenditure below Rp800,000 per month.
Meanwhile, the five deciles are in the context of economic grouping, especially in the context of integrated social welfare data (DTKS) and the distribution of social assistance (bansos), showing groups of people with lower middle to lower welfare levels or "pas-pasan" groups.
This group is above the poor and vulnerable to poverty (desil 1-4), but has not yet reached a more established economic level.
Teuku Remi said the teaching and learning process for people's schools in West Aceh Regency is planned to begin in September this year.
This was carried out after the revitalization process was completed by the Ministry of PUPR Team of the Republic of Indonesia, with the location of the Pioneer People's School at the Holy Orphanage Complex Meulaboh, West Aceh Regency.
Teuku Remi explained that the local government chose the Meulaboh Sacred Heart Orphanage Complex which is currently being used for the location of the West Aceh District Social Service Office because it already has many facilities.
In addition, the location of the school is also in the city center and has been used as an orphanage, so it is very supportive of the implementation of teaching and learning activities for students later.
Teuku Remi said that later the orphanage would only be used for a while, while waiting for the completion of the construction of the West Aceh Regency People's School which was planned in the former Fisherman's Housing, Meureubo District, West Aceh Regency.
