Hasto Sentenced To 3.5 Years In Prison, Ganjar: Wise Judge, Not All Indictments Proven

Chairman of the PDIP DPP Ganjar Pranowo assessed that the panel of judges who tried the PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto case was quite wise. This is because there is an indictment from the Public Prosecutor (JPU) that it has not been proven.

The panel of judges decided that the obstruction charges for the investigation were not proven. Meanwhile, for the bribery of the replacement between the time (PAW) of the DPR, Hasto was found guilty.

"Yes, of course, everything has been done and we are happy to follow that not everything that is accused is not proven. I think the judge is quite wise," said Ganjar to reporters at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Friday, July 25.

With this decision, Hasto and his legal team will think about the legal steps to be taken, especially regarding the appeal to the High Court.

"Because I think there are still 2 stages that they will definitely discuss among legal advisors and Mas Hasto to make efforts or accept. We give them the opportunity to digest again," said Ganjar.

In this case, Hasto was found guilty of giving bribes together and continuing. Thus, the panel of judges handed down a verdict or verdict with a prison sentence of 3.5 years.

In addition to imprisonment, the panel of judges also imposed a fine of Rp250 million, Hasto Kristiyanto.

The criminal fine is imposed on the condition that if it is not paid, it will be replaced with imprisonment for three months.

"The defendant Hasto Kristiyanto has been sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison," said Judge Rios.

Hasto was declared to have violated Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a of Law (UU) Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001 jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 jo. Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
