Jokowi Affirms Not To Order PSI Cadres To Post Their Diplomas

The 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), stated that he had never ordered a cadre of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), Dian Sandi, to upload a photo of his diploma to social media.

Dian Sandi had uploaded a photo of Jokowi's Strata 1 (S1) diploma to his personal social media X on April 1, 2025.

"I also did not order to post the diploma on social media, I answered as it was," said Jokowi after undergoing an examination at the Surakarta Police, Wednesday, July 23.

He made this statement in order to answer questions from investigators. This is because investigators from Polda Metro Jaya had questioned whether there was an order to post the diploma.

In addition, investigators also questioned his relationship with Dian Sandi. Jokowi explained that he had indeed met the PSI cadre. The meeting took place at his home.

"Everything I answered that I met at home when Dian Sandi stayed in touch and apologized for posting my bachelor's degree diploma," he said.

Still regarding diplomas, Jokowi said he had confiscated them. Two were confiscated, namely high school (SMA) and Strata 1 of the Faculty of Forestry, Gadjah Mada University (UGM).

"The investigators confiscated the original diplomas of S1 and SMA," said Jokowi.

For information, in handling this case, Polda Metro Jaya has raised the status of the case to the investigation stage. Because, it was found that there was a criminal element.

The decision to increase the status of the case is based on the results of a case conducted by the State Security Sub-Directorate (Kamneg) on Thursday, July 10.
