2 South Korean Citizens Died Falling Into The Sea While Playing Paragliding In Bali

The process of evacuating victims of South Korean foreigners who fell into the sea during paragliding in Bali/DOK Police

DENPASAR - Two Foreign Citizens (WNA) from South Korea (South Korea) died because they failed to land while playing paragliding around the Kutuh Village area, South Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali.

The two foreigners are a married couple named Seojin Han (43) and his wife Hwang Jinah (41). Both fell into the sea waters of Tanah Barak Beach while playing paragliding and the incident occurred on Thursday (17/7) at around 12.30 WITA.

"Two foreigners fell into the sea while playing paragliding or paragliding in the waters of Tanah Barak Beach, South Kuta," said Denpasar Police Public Relations Head AKP Ketut Sukadi, Tuesday, July 22.

In Bali, both of them played paragliding solo with different types of machines without being accompanied by an instructor or tandem. The tools used are owned by themselves which are brought directly from Korea.

The two victims and their friends are known to have paragliding skills or skills. They also have a paragliding pilot license from Korea.

On Thursday, July 17th, Hwang Jinah and Seojin Han were in the air, but about 10 minutes suddenly there was a change in the direction of the wind.

Victims Hwang Jinah and Seojin Han fell at sea.

Panicked, the victims Hwang Jinah and Seojin Han could not remove paragliding seating equipment, so the two victims were in an underwater position.

"And after checking the two victims, it was stated that the two victims died so that the bodies of the two victims were referred to the Bali Mandara Hospital, in Denpasar," he added.

"That the bodies of the two victims will be cremated in Bali and their ashes will be brought back to Korea," said AKP Sukadi.
