The West Java Regional Police confirmed that a member of the police died while securing the people's entertainment event for the wedding of the son of the Governor of West Java Dedi Mulyadi (KDM) at Oto Iskandar Dinata Field, Garut Regency.
Head of Public Relations of the West Java Regional Police, Kombes Hendra Rochmawan, said the police who died were known as Cecep, who was a member of the Bhabinkamtibmas Polsek of the Garut Police.
"Our members died on behalf of Cecep, a member of the Bhabinkamtibmas Polsek at the Garut Police," said Hendra as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 18.
According to him, Cecep had arranged the flow of guests crammed around the entrance to the location of the people's entertainment stage for Maula Akbar Mulyadi Putra and Putri Karlina's wedding, who also served as Deputy Regent of Garut.
Hendra explained that Cecep even helped a resident who had fainted due to mass density.
After the situation was under control, Cecep then rested but suddenly fainted and was declared dead at the location before receiving medical treatment.
"After the event went smoothly, well, there was no crowd, the person concerned then took a break, sat down. At the time he was resting and passed away and then died," said Hendra.
