Ojol's Demonstration At Monas Today, 1,437 Joint Personnel Are Prepared

JAKARTA A total of 1,437 joint personnel from Polda Metro Jaya, Polres Metro Central Jakarta, and Polsek ranks were deployed to secure a demonstration held by online motorcycle taxi drivers in the South Cross Monas area, Central Jakarta, Thursday, July 17, 2025.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Commissioner Susatyo Purnomo Condro said security began with an troop rally at 08.00 WIB at the Merdeka Barat Police Post.

"We ask protesters to obey the rules and follow the directions of security officers in the field," said Susatyo in Jakarta.

He emphasized that the police would oversee the action with a humanist and professional approach. He also appealed to orators to keep the situation conducive during the action.

"We appeal to all orators to calm the masses, not provoke, and not provoke anarchic actions from other action participants," he said.

The police chief also reminded the action participants to remain orderly and not to fight the officers or damage public facilities.

"If you want to convey your aspirations, do it in a good, peaceful, and dignified way," he said.

Susatyo emphasized to all security personnel to prioritize a persuasive approach in their duties. He also instructed no members to carry firearms.

"To the officers, I emphasize that no one carries firearms. Serve our brothers and sisters who express opinions humanely and professionally, but remain firm in carrying out their duties," said Susatyo.

To anticipate traffic congestion, people are advised to use alternative routes around the South Silang area of Monas during the action.
