Amolecular Village Head Corruption Suspect Rp1.1 Billion Village Fund Detained By South Sulawesi District Prosecutor

KONSEL - The village head (Kades) Amolecularu with the initials LI in Kolono District, South Konawe (Konsel), Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra), was detained in connection with corruption in village funds worth Rp1.1 billion.

Head of the South Sumatra District Attorney's Office (Kejari) Ujang Sutisna said the detention of LI was carried out after an investigation for allegedly embezzling the village fund budget from 2021 to 2024 with a total budget of around Rp. 2.76 billion.

"The state financial loss due to criminal acts of corruption with a total of Rp1.1 billion," said Ujang in Kendari, Wednesday, July 16, which was confiscated by Antara.

He conveyed, from the findings of the South Sumatra Kejari investigators, the modus operandi of the LI village head embezzled funds by carrying out village activities during 2021-2024, but from these activities it was not in accordance with the legal accountability and evidence of financial reports.

Ujang Sutisna explained that for his actions, the village head of LI was suspected of Article 2 paragraph (1) Jo. Article 18 paragraph (1) letters a and b of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 Jo. Article 64 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.

"The subsidies are Article 3 Juncto Article 18 paragraph (1) letters a and b and Article 64 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code," said Ujang.

He revealed that his party had detained LI at the Class IIA Kendari State Detention Center (Rutan) since July 15, 2025 for the next 20 days for investigation purposes. In addition, detention is also a step taken by investigators to prevent suspects from escaping or eliminating evidence.

"The South Konawe District Attorney also appealed to all village heads in the jurisdiction of South Konawe, to make this case a lesson to always carry out their mandate and not abuse their authority in managing village funds," said Ujang Sutisna.

He added that the detention of LI was based on the Suspect Determination Letter Number: R-01/P.3.17/Fd.1/07/2025 after undergoing examination.
