The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has officially appointed Jurist Tan, former special staff of the Minister of Education Nadiem Makarim, as a fugitive in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of Chrome OS or Chromebook-based laptops at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek).
"The step we take is to include Jurist Tan in the wanted list (DPO), and we have collaborated with various parties so that the person concerned can return to Indonesia," said the Director of Investigation at the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes, Abdul Qohar, Wednesday, July 16.
The determination of the DPO was made because Jurist Tan had never fulfilled the investigator's summons even though he had been legally summoned three times in a row.
"The person concerned through his attorney only asked for the examination to be carried out in writing, even though it is not known in the Indonesian legal system," said Qohar.
Jurist Tan is not the only suspect in this case. The AGO has also named three officials and consultants within the Ministry of Education and Culture as suspects, namely Mulatsyah, Director of SMP Kemendikbudristek, Sri Wahyuningsih, Director of SD Kemendikbudristek and Ibrahim Arief, procurement consultant at the Ministry of Education and Culture.
Mulatsyah and Sri Wahyuningsih were immediately detained at the Salemba Rutan at the AGO branch for the first 20 days. Meanwhile, Ibrahim Arief was not detained for health reasons.
