Cibitung-Cilincing Toll Road Starts To Be Used In June

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) together with the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT) PT. Cibitung Tanjung Priok Port Tollways is currently building the Cibitung-Cilincing toll road.

There are 4 sections in the construction of this road. It is predicted that next June can be used. President Director of PT. Cibitung Tanjung Priok Port Tollways Thorry Hendarto said that the progress of the construction of the toll road section 1 SS Cibitung-Telaga Asih (2.65 kilometers) has reached 99.72 percent.

"Hopefully after Lebaran the minor work process or finishing section 1 is finished. So, the initial target of June 2021 will be operational because the physical construction has been completed," said Thorry, as quoted from the Cabinet Secretariat website, Thursday, May 6.

Meanwhile, for section 2 with the Telaga Asih-Muara Bakti route (10.1 kilometers) the progress reaches 98.06 percent, section 3 Muara Bakti-East Flood Canal (14.35 kilometers) the progress reaches 91.86 percent, and section 4 canals. The East-Cilincing flood (7.2 kilometers) has progressed to reach 58.78 percent.

"Sections 2 and 3 are targeted to be completed by the end of October 2021 and the rest of section 4 by the end of December 2021 we are optimistic that it will be completed if the remaining 1.6 kilometers of land that has not been acquired in North Jakarta can be acquired within the next 2 months," he said.

Thorry said, with the operation of this toll road, it will complement the structure of the JORR 2 network, and it can also shorten travel time, especially from East Jakarta to North Jakarta.

"From Cibitung to Tanjung Priok, it is usually about an hour or more via Japek (Jakarta-Cikampek) and the inner city toll road, taking this toll takes about half an hour through," said Thorry.

For information, the construction of the 34-kilometer Cibitung-Cilincing Toll Road is one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN). The budget reaches IDR 12.9 trillion.

This toll road consists of four sections, with the overall construction progress having reached 85.38 percent and is targeted to be completed soon in 2021 so that it can be operated.

It is stated that the Cibitung-Cilincing Toll Road will complement the structure of the road network in the Jabodetabek area which already has the inner city and outer ring toll road network (Jakarta Outer Ring Road / JORR) 1 which is already operational and JORR 2 which is in the process of construction.
