Claiming To Be A Marine Member, Only A Youth Mode In Padang Is An Underage Girl Obscenity

The Padang City Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Polresta), West Sumatra, arrested a young man with the initials NR (21) for allegedly molesting a underage woman after claiming to be a marine member.

"The perpetrator was arrested on Saturday, July 12, without a fight. From his hands we secured a number of evidences," said Head of the Padang Police Criminal Investigation Unit Kompol M Yasin in Padang, Antara, Sunday, July 13.

NR, who is a resident of Koto Tangah Subdistrict, Padang, has now been detained and is currently undergoing a legal examination process. The case was handled by investigators from the Women and Children Service Unit (PPA) of the Padang Police Satreskrim.

Yasin explained that NR was charged with Article 332 of the Criminal Code regarding taking underage women away without parental or guardian permission. In addition, he can also be charged with the Child Protection Act, with a maximum threat of 15 years in prison.

This case was revealed after the victim's parents reported their missing child for about a week. Previously, the victim had asked permission to go to a tourist spot in Padang City, but after that his whereabouts were unknown.

After tracking and investigating, the Satreskrim team found the victim at a boarding house with NR. Based on the results of the examination, the perpetrator claimed to be a marine member with the rank of second sergeant (Serda) to influence and deceive the victim.

"The perpetrator persuaded the victim by saying that he was an active marine member with the rank of Serda, even though it was just a trick," said Yasin.

During his stay at the boarding house, the perpetrator admitted that he had abused the victim several times. The police confirmed that NR was not a member of the TNI or other state officials. This confession is a lie used to deceive the victim.

From the hands of the perpetrators, the police secured a number of evidences such as TNI field service clothes (PDL), T-shirts, and striped jackets used to disguise themselves as members of the military.

Yasin said the examination of NR was still ongoing. Meanwhile, the victim is currently receiving assistance from the Women and Children Protection Unit of the Padang Police.
