JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Immigration of the Republic of Indonesia deported XP, a Chinese citizen, who is a fugitive from the Chinese government, for allegedly committing a criminal act of fraud in his country with a total loss of 12,698,600 yuan or around Rp28.5 billion.
"We have deported XP on Saturday, July 12, 2025, via I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport by plane to Guangzhou," said Acting Director General of Immigration Yuldi Yusman, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, July 13.
Yuldi explained that the XP who was charged with fraud by the Guangzhou Prosecutor's Office in January 2015 was arrested in the Tabanan area, Bali, July 10.
The arrest of XP was made based on the results of a cyber patrol of the Sub-Directorate of Investigation of the Directorate General of Immigration. XP is also known to do not have a residence permit.
"XP was secured at his residence on July 10, 2025 at 01.30 WITA by a joint team from the Sub-Directorate of Investigation and officers of the Class I Immigration Office of TPI Denpasar," said Yuldi.
After being arrested, XP was taken to the Denpasar Immigration Office for further investigation. The man most sought by the Chinese government was placed in a detention room before being deported to his home country.
"This [deportation] process fully adheres to applicable legal provisions, as well as puts forward aspects of humanity and the principles of international cooperation," said Yuldi ensured.
Yuldi said the Directorate General of Immigration of the Republic of Indonesia established good communication and collaboration with various countries, especially regarding the exchange of data and information from foreigners.
