COVID-19 Is Still Lurking, Kudus Residents Are Prohibited From Holding Takbir Around

JAKARTA - The Government of Kudus Regency, Central Java (Central Java) has banned traveling takbir activities during Eid Al-Fitr night in order to prevent crowds and reduce the number of COVID-19 transmission.

This was the statement of the Regent of Kudus, Hartopo, when leading the rally in the Ketupat Candi troop at the Kudus Police compound, Wednesday, May 5.

"We emphasize that all forms of activities that have the potential to cause crowds must be eliminated. Do not let the spike in COVID-19 cases after last year's Eid happen again this year."

Takbir can be done at each mosque or prayer room while still implementing health protocols. In order to run according to the program, the Kudus Regency Government will deploy personnel in the field to monitor to supervise.

If a violation of the prokes is found, it will be given guidance up to administrative sanctions.

He also reminded the public to optimize the role of Jogo Tonggo. The reason is, this also supports the application of 3T (tracing, testing, treatment) in the response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Central Government itself has adopted a policy of prohibiting homecoming for 12 days, starting from 6-17 May 2021. In guarding this policy, the Kudus Regency Government will make promotional and preventive efforts with the Kudus Police as the leading sector of the Ketupat Candi operation.

The blocking of access to the Kudus Regency area has begun to be implemented to anticipate travelers from outside the area to break the chain of the spread of COVID-19.

He assessed that the implementation of the Candi Ketupat Operation was the right step in reducing the spread of COVID-19 ahead of Eid. His party did not want the spike in COVID-19 cases last year to happen again.
