KPK Will Create Rules For Suspects Who Are 'Hobi' To Cover Their Faces

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) plans to make rules for detainees or after being questioned at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

This was conveyed by KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in response to a number of detainees who often cover their faces from the shots of reporters' cameras with masks, hats, and maps. Discussion is being carried out but it is not specified when it will be finished.

"We are discussing this internally for the mechanism," Budi told reporters, Saturday, July 12.

Budi said that KPK detainees had been able to cover their faces because there was no prohibition. "There is no provision yet," he said.

This condition makes the anti-corruption commission will arrange a way so that the suspect can no longer hide his face. So, they can get a more maximum deterrent effect.

A number of detainees from the anti-corruption commission are known to often cover their faces. One of them is the former Head of PUPR for North Sumatra Province, Topan Obaja Putra Ginting or Typhoon Ginting.

At that time, Typhoon was seen wearing a jacket with a head covering. He also wears a hat and covers his face with a mask when he goes to the anti-corruption commission office for inspection.

Likewise when he came out, his face did not appear a bit. He chose to hurry and was silent when asked about his close relationship with the Governor of North Sumatra who is also the son-in-law of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Bobby Nasution.

The name Topan is associated with Bobby Nasution because he was inaugurated as Head of PUPR on February 24, 2025 or after the Gerindra Party politician became governor.

Then he also served as Head of the Public Works Agency or the Department of Water Resources, Highways and Construction Development of Medan City as well as Acting (Plt) Medan City Secretary when Bobby served as Mayor of Medan.

"KPK will prepare the arrangements or mechanisms and serve as a guideline for all relevant parties, especially detainees who are being investigated," concluded Budi.
