This Morning, 35 RTs In DKI Jakarta Were Submerged By Water

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that 35 neighborhood units (RT) were still inundated until Tuesday at 05.00 WIB, as a result of high intensity rain and maximum tides since Monday, July 7.

This condition was triggered by a combination of extreme weather and early warning of coastal flooding (rob) issued by the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) due to the New Moon and Perigee phase which strengthens the maximum tide of sea water.

BPBD DKI recorded inundation spread across four city areas, with the most details being in South Jakarta as many as 25 RT. Meanwhile, West Jakarta recorded 7 affected RTs, North Jakarta 2 RT, and East Jakarta 1 RT.

In South Jakarta, the villages worst affected were Duren Tiga with inundation as high as 130 cm due to overflowing Mampang River, followed by Kuningan Barat (95 cm), Jati Padang (85 cm), and Pela Mampang (60 cm).

Meanwhile, in West Jakarta, inundation reaches 50 cm in Kedaung Kali Angke due to high rainfall and overflowing Cengkareng River.

North Jakarta also experienced a 65 cm high inundation in Kapuk Muara Village, which was caused by a combination of rain and rob.

A total of six refugee points have been prepared to accommodate the affected residents. Among them are the Al Mujahidin Mosque in Jati Padang Village which currently houses 140 people, and the Al Inayah Mushola in West Pejaten which accommodates 60 people.

Three roads in West Jakarta are also still inundated, namely Jl. Adi Karya (40 cm), Jl. Bojong Indah Raya (30 cm), and Jl. Raya Daan Mogot KM 11 (20 cm), which also interferes with the mobility of residents.

However, BPBD also reported that inundation had receded in a number of areas, including 40 RTs in Petogogan Village, as well as in Kebon Jeruk, North Cipete, Jagakarsa, and East Cilandak Villages.

Several roads that were previously inundated have also been declared dry, such as Jl. HR Rasuna Said (Kel. Guntur), Jl. Raya Motor and Jl. Motorstyle 2 (Kel. Bambu River), as well as Green Garden Housing Street (Kel. North Kedoya).

BPBD DKI Jakarta mobilizes personnel to all affected areas to monitor conditions and coordinate with the Water Resources, Highways, and Gulkarmat Offices to carry out water suction and ensure waterways function normally.

"We carried out integrated handling with the village head, sub-district head, and related agencies. The inundation is targeted to recede in a short time," wrote the official BPBD statement.

BPBD appealed to residents to remain alert to potential inundation and immediately report to emergency service 112 which operates 24 hours at no cost.
