Two Drug Recidivists Pretend To Be Police, Action At Vape Shop In Kemanggisan

JAKARTA - Two drug recidivists are desperate to become fake police officers to extort a number of victims. However, his action ended after the victim reported the incident to the West Jakarta Metro Police.

The two fake policemen are known to have the initials A and Y. The two recidivists deceived lovers who wanted to sell motorbikes through social media.

The crime took place on June 18, 2025 in front of a vape shop on Jalan U Raya, Kemanggisan, Palmerah, West Jakarta.

"They pretended to be members of the police and said the victim's motorbike was incomplete in the documents. Then they took him to the police station, but they ran away with a motorbike," said West Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Twedy Aditya Bennyahdi, Friday, July 4, 2025.

After the victim reported to the police, the investigative team immediately moved and managed to arrest the two perpetrators at a rented house in Cengkareng, West Jakarta.

Dari hasil pemeriksaan, ternyata pelaku sudah melakukan penipuan dengan modus serupa sebanyak 17 kali dalam kurun waktu satu tahun terakhir.

What is even sad is that the perpetrators used the proceeds of the crime for their daily needs and bought narcotics of the type of methamphetamine.

"They don't wear uniforms, they don't show KTA. They only have threats and tricks that the victim's motorbike is fraudulent. Then they are asked to be confiscated," he said.

The two suspects were charged with Article 378 of the Criminal Code for their actions. Currently, the two perpetrators are already in the West Jakarta Metro Police detention cell.
